All purpose trail built on the Ottawa Arnprior & Parry Sound Railway (OA&PS) right of way, freshly groomed. Built in 1897, sold to GTR in 1905 and taken over by CNR in 1923, and closed between 1952 and 1959. There was a switching yard and round house here once. It is part of the OFSC trail system.

This foundation for a railway round house is all that is left of a major railway hub on the OA&PS railway. It now serves as a bench. It was the bussiest railway in the world in 1910 with a train every 20 minutes from Deep Harbour on Georgian Bay, to Montreal. It saved about 800 very slow km. of shipping on the Great Lakes from the prairies, and was cheaper than the CPR Lake Superior train route. East side of the Madawaska Recreational Center.
